Once, long ago, a little star fell from the skies and landed on the earth. Sana, raised by stories of myth and magic and opening up her Inner Eye carried through her family history, holds stories like this close to her. A budding Seer familiar with the cosmos as well as at home in the sprawling greenery of her countryside home, with a sunny disposition and a starry eyed core, part of two worlds, so to speak; she's mystified by things glittering and glowing, magical and ordinary; a paradox in and of herself who wants to unravel the beautiful mysteries of the universe. A very sense-oriented person in general, Sana's feeling of connection with her inner self comes from a connection to her own senses and to the outside world.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS (SIX SENSES):
SIGHT: Hair has been colored blonde and is styled either naturally or softly curled. Often changes her hair to different colors and is hoping to utilize this further once she can practice magic at home. Easily visually stimulated by bright lights, vibrant colors, and magical sights: the whirling phenomenon of the Northern Lights, the fireflies in the Hufflepuff living quarters, the sparks of a particularly lively charm, the full moon. Enjoys mysteries and, more specifically, uncovering them and discovering hidden truths. Wears glasses for reading. Frequently found looking up at the sky. Along with the school uniform, also enjoys wearing muted & nude colors, soft pinks, warm yellows, creams, and golden shades in anything from sundresses to cozy sweaters. May sometimes also wear crystals around her neck, flowers in her pockets, star clips in her hair or scattered elsewhere. Handwriting is flowing and slants to the right, indicating a yearning nature. Specializes in calligraphy. Dorm room contains crystals and gems, herbs, plants, her owl, candles, a mini telescope (sent from home), tea cups, several teddy bears, perfumes, a crystal ball (also sent from home), star charts, books, and her Hogwarts journal, a moving portrait of her parents, and any other tidbits and knick knacks she's collected.
SOUND: Melodious voice typically accompanied by laughter, full of expression. Well-spoken when it comes to English, with an accented tone. Osaka dialect when speaking her native language. Loves learning languages and is hoping to pick up more, including Latin and Mermish, the language of Merpeople. Often associated with the fluttering of owl's wings, the rustle of star charts, the incantation of spoken spells, the sound of practicing different languages, the rippling of the Hogwarts lake during warm weather, and the echoes of footfalls or voices across the castle. Afraid of loud noises and will seek a warm bed or somewhere further into the underground Hufflepuff burrows during a thunderstorm, which she wishes to overcome because she loves the brightness of the sky during storms and the freshness of the rain.
SCENT: Collects perfumes, so may smell different on any given day; most are flowery and smell sweet. Quill ink, parchment, and dusty textbooks (usually from ancient books on astronomy or divination) may follow her through her day to day activities as well as blown out candles from her dorm, damp earth and plants from the Hufflepuff living quarters, wood lingering on her wand with the faintest hint of peonies emitting from the tip, and piping hot tea meant for reading tea leaves.
TASTE: Eats well and has an affinity for trying new foods; wants to try both magical and Muggle dishes from around the world. Family's home cooking and Japanese dishes taste the most like home to her. Western meals have also become commonplace for her after living in Europe since childhood. Spicy dishes, chocolate of any kind, and sugar quills are her favorites. Likes to cook, especially traditional Japanese dishes.
TOUCH: Both physically and emotionally affectionate. Explores by touching and feeling. High energy. Often uses her hands, either by talking with them or by fiddling with them during lectures. Tucks her hair behind her ear (or sticks her tongue out) when concentrating. Clumsy to extreme measures. Very sensitive to sensory details involving touch, which is one key method she uses for divination; often touches tarot cards to divine, and palms for reading, among others. Has been making good use of her Hogwarts journal by pressing flowers in certain pages and writing in shimmering, golden ink.
THOUGHT: Is a Seer, born with the ability to foresee future events through divination. Her Inner Eye is just beginning to fully 'awaken', so she's still trying to learn how to handle this ability and find her way through the mystical fogginess of Seeing. Very bright-natured and animated, with a tendency to think positively. Sensitive, open-minded, dreamy, and playful. Very active imagination. Tendency to think in abstract terms.
SIDE NOTE: Sana is able to divine unforeseen happenings. This prediction of what's to come can occur through deja vu-like feelings or sensations about something that aren't quite able to be expressed so much as sensed. These sensations are different from Prophecies, which Seers are capable of making and will have no recollection of one afterwards (Sana has not made one). While it may seem confusing, and often can be, Sana is learning to hone these skills, which differ for each Seer but ultimately requires a natural sense for the application of Seeing as well as an understanding of the more theoretical way divination works. It's also important to be in tune with herself, to reflect on her own emotions and the opening of her Inner Eye. Divination can occur in many forms, some of which are already familiar at least in concept to Sana such as astrology, palm reading, tarot card reading, and crystal ball gazing. Still, there are many other forms which Sana hopes to learn and perfect during her growth as a Seer.
For the sake of plot purposes, Sana is very much available to incorporate this ability into scenes, lines, or connections in general. Whether an sudden, unexpected event or a kind of slow-burning feeling that develops over time, whether a future situation (such as good fortune on such and such day) or a general characteristic (such as what the lines on palms mean) we're open to however you want the situation to map out for your muse and are wanting to follow your lead in this area so that Sana doesn't overstep any boundaries! Sana is very much new to the craft, but even if she weren't, the future is a fickle beast and prone to change at any time. Also, Seeing is more of a vague silhouette than a filled in form, and instinct is key. Her predictions are very often murky and hard to understand, like a maze, but she's more than willing to try to decipher the messages together.
